Between physical hunger and spiritual yearning, the roadside signs of Texas echo with promises of craving and faith, insisting that something in us is still starving. A chicken sandwich, a massive burrito, a reminder that Jesus is the way.
I began photographing them over four years of traveling. At first, I dismissed them as visual noise, repetitive, teasing, impossible to ignore. But somewhere between the drive-thru and the cross, something deeper began to speak.
For me, these signs reflect a single question that reappears at every intersection of life:
What are we really looking for?
